Information Systems Coordinator
Bio
Since 2008 William Fennie has served as MPRC's Information coordinator, where his responsibilities include identifying and meeting the information needs of the Center's research community and staff. In 2022 his responsibilities were expanded to include technical services such as user support and server administration.
Information Systems support includes managing and consulting on NIH reporting requirements, managing citations, and providing database and web support for a variety of projects. It also includes maintaining and preserving the Center's web services and database platforms.
Mr. Fennie has expertise in web design and development, database design and development, information architecture, project management, and team development. He is also a Content Management System integrator with specialized integration / development experience in Plone and Drupal.
He has been a board member and past-President of APLIC International, an association of information specialists who support population studies and family planning.
His Master of Information Management from the University of Maryland iSchool focused on honing skills for user-centered web development, especially with regard to scientific research projects and team management.
